Thinking that This is a Get Rich Quick Scheme

There are so many online courses that promise you that you will get rich quickly and easily through affiliate marketing. If you happen to come across such things, go the other way immediately!
Truth be told, affiliate marketing is not a get rich quick scheme, but rather, it is a legitimate form of digital marketing where your sole task is to promote the products of your partner companies in exchange for commissions.
Success in affiliate marketing requires a lot of time and if you are impatient to see things through, this may not be for you.

Posting Way Too Many Ads

So, you’ve done an incredible job in making sure that your webpage ranks high in the SERPs and you gain more traffic as a result. But, what you didn’t take into account is the ads (or should I say, the number of ads) that you have on your page.
Remember that a lot of people are repulsive when it comes to ads. Sure, an ad here or there would not hurt but if you bombard them with a lot of ads, they might think that your site is shady.

You see, the main body of your content should be quite compelling to the point that people will deem your website as an authority figure in the niche. Always churn out high-quality content right from the start.

Not Looking at Your Competition

Affiliate marketing is a cut-throat business and if you do not take it upon yourself to improve, you are going to be outshined by the competition.
Look at your competitors and see how they do things. Pick apart the best aspects of their affiliate campaigns and create one that combines all of them. Apply what you’ve learned on your future projects.

You’re Always Overselling

Always bear in mind that it is not your job to become a salesperson but rather someone that provides meaningful content to your audience.
Overselling is quite common in affiliate marketing and those who do will surely get poor results.
